Name: Salt and Pepper
Nickname: Pepper
Gender: Gelding
Age: 5, almost 6
Bio: Born on May second, 2008 to Saltire diamond (dam) and Aspen (sire), Pepper is a feisty young gelding with few ground manors, but better at being ridden. Jumping is his passion. He lives at Breyer Gate Stables, a show jumping and dressage stable. His owner, Valerie Suzanne Potier, is a beginner show jumper. Together the two of them have a bond stronger than many other horse and rider bonds.
Fears: Dogs, loud noises and backing out of a straight load.
Breed: thoroughbred/quater-horse cross.

Story:
Pepper flicked a fly away with his coarse, black tail as he munched on the sweet oats Valerie had set out for him. Life was good at Breyer Gate Stables: the fields were full of delicious grass, the stalls filled with soft bedding, the best riders on earth (in Pepper's opinion).

There was a "SQUEAK" and a groan as the barn door opened. The bright autumn sunlight shone into the barn, and Pepper had to blink his eyes several times as he looked up. A neigh whinnied from behind the light, and Pepper pricked his eyes forward in interest.

It could only mean one thing: A new horse!

Clipitty-clop went the hooves of the new horse as she and her new owner made their way down the isle. A couple of the other horses looked up from their evening meals, and a few nickered to their new stablemate.

The rider made her way into the stall next to Pepper's. She beckoned the horse in after her with a soft "Good girl!" as she slipped off the dark blue halter. The horse circled around and watched the rider leave.

Pepper stuck his nose through the bars into the new mare's stall. "Hello." He seemed to whinny.

The mare sniffed his nose and then snorted. There was a nervous gleam in her eye.

Pepper pulled his nose back into his stall. Giving the new mare some room was probably the best option. He began to munch on his oats and hay again.

"I can't wait to know what the future holds!" He seemed to laugh. "Tomorrow is all about jumping, riding, and meeting the new mare..."
